Réseaux Booléens

Article by Loïc Paulevé in Nature Communications

Loïc Paulevé proposes to "reconcile qualitative, abstract and scalable modeling for biological networks".

The prediction of complex biological processes, such as cell differentiation, requires the consideration of many molecular and genetic elements, for which we mainly have a global knowledge of their two-way interactions.

So-called "logic" modeling, in particular with Boolean networks, is widely used to reason about the qualitative dynamics of biological networks, such as signaling and gene regulation networks. Indeed, the specification of a Boolean network requires few parameters and allows the rapid implementation of a computer model to predict the "coarse-grained" behavior of a biological system.
