On 10/18, SCRIME and the L'Inconnue music school co-organized a concert dedicated to scientific experimentation with the guitar, featuring two performances by Montag, Jean-Marc Montera and György Kürtag, and Around Space by the Praetorian group.
The evening was dedicated to scientific experimentation with the guitar. One of the most widely played instruments, the guitar provides an inexhaustible field of experimentation for artists and scientists alike.
The first part of the show focused on exploratory and improvisational experimentation with the instrument, with novel playing techniques developed by guitarist Jean-Marc Montera, accompanied by composer György Kurtag.
In the second half of the evening, the French metal band Praetorian performed a sample of their repertoire, without amplifiers, using distortion effects reconstituted by AI, all broadcast in quadraphony using techniques developed at SCRIME.
