Dalloway

As part of the Les Hypermondes festival, LaBRI is participating in the Rencontre Cinémascience event organized by the CNRS (in partnership with the Mérignac cinema) to host a screening of the film Dalloway on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 6:45 p.m. at the Mérignac Ciné.

After the screening, Akka Zemmari (Professor at LaBRI, head of the AI department) will talk with the audience about AI and the questions its use raises, such as “Is AI a valuable aid or a hidden danger?”
Synopsis: Clarissa, a novelist in need of inspiration, joins a prestigious, state-of-the-art artist residency. She finds support and even a confidante in Dalloway, her virtual assistant, who helps her write. But little by little, Clarissa becomes uncomfortable with her AI's increasingly intrusive behavior, reinforced by the conspiracy theories of another resident. Feeling watched, Clarissa secretly launches an investigation to discover her hosts' true intentions. Is this a real threat or paranoid delusion?
