DESCRIPTION:/Exposé en anglais/Talk in english/ \n\n/ Uniquement en présent
iel / Only offline\, no online version / \n\nAs a variant on the tradition
al Ramsey-type questions\, there has been a lot of research about the exis
tence of spanning monochromatic subgraphs in complete edge-coloured graphs
and hypergraphs. One of the central questions in this area was proposed b
y Lehel around 1979\, who conjectured that the vertex set of every 2-edge-
coloured complete graph can be partitioned into two monochromatic cycles o
f distinct colours. This was answered in the affirmative by Bessy and Thom
assé in 2010. Similar partitioning problems have been considered for more
colours and for other graphs and hypergraphs. \n\nIn this talk we will rev
iew some of these problems and offer some results\, proofs\, and open ques
 tions. \n\n\n[Jozef Skokan] (LSE\, London) \nhttps://www.lse.ac.uk/Mathema
